110m hurdles world champion Sergei Shubenkov said he remained hopeful of returning to action before the end of the current season, but the prospects of competing in the competitions were “hazy”.
Earlier it became known that the athlete broke his collarbone as a result of a fall from a motorcycle.
– Thank you to everyone who wrote to me and asked how I was doing, and wished me all kinds of conveniences. So I’m fine. There was a reason I didn’t get in touch for so long, but more on that later.
Now I want to say I’m better. The prospects for competition this season still seem vague, but I leave no hope, Shubenkov wrote on the Telegram channel.
Shubenkov, 32, has one gold, two silver and one bronze at the world championships. He is also European champion.
