Ukrainians lost in a penalty shootout
Women’s beach soccer team of Ukraine lost to the team Spain in the final European Games 2023.
For a long time none of the teams managed to score the first goal, but at the end of the game Anna Shulga opened the scoring. Spain bounced back thanks to a goal from Jessica Higueras. In overtime, the Ukrainians again took the lead, but could not keep the lead. And in the penalty shootout, the Spaniards were more accurate.
Recall that in the semi-finals the team of Yuriy Klymenko defeated Portugal – 3:1. As part of the Ukrainian team, Irina Dubitskaya, Maria Tikhonova and Irina Kostyuk distinguished themselves.
Today, the Ukrainian men’s beach soccer team beat Poland in the match for seventh place at the European Games 2023 – 3:2.
In total, Ukraine has already won 39 medals at the 2023 European Games in Krakow, including 20 gold ones. Blue-yellows take third place in the medal standings of the competition.
