“Fencing is an incredible sport. I learned that it is in the top 3 intellectual species. I did not pretend to win, it was a new experience, I took a sword in my hands for the first time. It was hard, but I succeeded.
Was there any preparation? Boxing was a discovery for me last year. I started studying on my own for general development. Now I was offered to train shortly before the event. Karina gave me a short master class before we left. They gave me equipment, a sword. If there is a mood, I will be to improve myself in this sport.
I have short nails now. There were no problems like with boxing in the past. They brought me materials in advance, in different sizes. There are nuances in the costume, how to hold the sword correctly. This is where I prepared myself.
Have you been afraid of injections? Today is a hectic day. I didn’t have time to think about it. Therefore, the first kick in me, and I’m like, Ouch, what was that? Maybe there will be a bruise. Now I will have a professional fencing injury,” a correspondent told Zagitova.
Moscow Sports Day takes place in Luzhniki on July 1. is the event’s media partner.
