Olympic figure skating champion Alina Zagitova said she used to react impulsively to criticism and negative comments directed at her, but over time learned to ignore those messages.
On Saturday, Zagitova took part in a fencing master class, performed at a figure skating festival and held a fan meeting as part of Moscow Sports Day.
– I used to think – what will people say about me? With time it passed. I decided to try myself everywhere, to develop myself and not to stand still. Try everything at once. Do I read comments? Before, I reacted impulsively to the negative, I thought – what if they were right? But if you think of every comment like that, you won’t succeed. I don’t understand how long these people have, do they have a life of their own? I learned to deal with it with experience. In the evening, I think of many things. It helps me and it doesn’t help me. I understand that some thoughts may not do me good,” a correspondent told Zagitova.
Moscow Sports Day takes place in Luzhniki on July 1. is the event’s media partner.
