Wilder: Ruiz is nothing compared to me to demand a 50-50 deal

Boxers can’t agree on fee terms

Former World Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder rejected the claim of the former unified world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz about equal distribution of the fee in their duel.

“Andy, things are quite like this. Your team needs to seriously think about the situation they’re in. They talk about 50-50, but you’re nothing compared to me. Brother, you weren’t a champion for long, so stop it.”

Ruiz confirmed his desire to fight Wilder. Andy stated that his team is negotiating with representatives of Deontay.

Wilder believes that Andres Ruiz, Andy’s father, is the reason for the delay in signing the contract. According to Deontay, Ruiz’s father makes all the decisions instead of the boxer and should get out of the negotiation process.

Earlier, WBC President Mauricio Suleiman said that his organization is preparing an eliminator fight between two former world champions Wilder and Ruiz. The winner will be declared the mandatory challenger for the WBC title held by Tyson Fury.

In his last fight, Ruiz defeated Luis Ortiz via unanimous decision. At the same time, Andy knocked down the opponent three times. After the fight, Ruiz challenged Wilder. Deontay defeated Finn Robert Helenius by knockout in the first round in his last fight in October.
