The championship fight is scheduled for August 26
Frank Warrenboxer’s promoter Daniel Duboisshared his expectations from the upcoming fight of the Brit against the Ukrainian world heavyweight champion according to WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO Oleksandr Usyk. The promoter is not impressed by the fights of the Ukrainian in heavyweight.
“I watched Usyk’s heavyweight fights. I remember his fight against Derek Chisora about 18 months, maybe two years ago. For six or seven rounds, Chisora gave him a lot of problems. He had an equal fight with Derek, and the odds were the same. They didn’t pick Chisora the easy way, but look what Tyson did to Chisora and look at that.
He had two fights with Joshua where AJ didn’t have a chance, he was at a disadvantage all the time. For me, AJ is not the boxer he was. I look at it, I look at Daniel and I just know that he is powerful, he has a good jab, he is faster than people think. If Usyk misses a good shot and feels at least some of his strength, it will be interesting to see how he reacts to it.
Usyk didn’t have a performance that was eye-popping and dramatic. Without disrespect, he did what he had to do, but I feel that Daniel will be in the right place at the right time, ”Warren said.
We will remind, Usyk in the next fight will meet with Daniel Dubois. The duel should take place on August 26 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian will receive 75% of the total prize fund – $6 million. The Briton can count on 25% – 2 million.
