“Riding under Rammstein is Goumennik’s idea. It would never have occurred to me” – choreographer Moroshkin

Choreographer Nikolai Morochkin called a protest Pierre Gumennik on the German band Rammstein’s song, one of the skater’s favorite numbers, and also said that he dedicated himself to the process as much as possible, as he skated to music close to him.

Gumennik is the winner of the Russian Grand Prix Final and the silver medalist of the Russian Championship. The figure skater’s demo program was set to Rammstein’s song “Mein Herz Brennt” (“My heart is on fire”).

– Many notice in Petya the beauty of her lines, her tenderness. But I see strength in him: he does a lot of things very plastically and strongly, Moroshkin told . – It has a huge palette of movement patterns – from classic beats to dynamic beats. For example, Petya likes Rammstein. Last year we did a demo number to their music. Have you seen it, perhaps?

– Yes of course. But I see Peter more in pictures than in classical music.

– So I wonder how you rate it in the short program of the coming season! From childhood, Petya was well brought up in exercise, he absorbed the sense of posture and gestures. And all this is multiplied by the talent that the skater has by nature. After all, the sense of posture is difficult to educate. Petr is smart, musical, intellectual and thanks to that he is very versatile on the ice. The athlete’s head must work well!

Piotr has had a lot of classic looks over the past few years and they work well. But we want to grow, so in the new season we set out to show it from a whole new side.

Skating under Rammstein is Peter’s idea. It would never have occurred to me: before, I was not interested at all in the work of this group and in a similar musical genre. But I always respect the wishes of my students. I read a biography, I got carried away… Suddenly, “My heart is on fire” is definitely one of Petya’s favorite numbers. Any skater devotes himself to the process as much as possible when skating to music close to him, Moroshkin noted.

Goumennik trains under Veronika Daineko at the Tamara Moskvina Figure Skating Club in St. Petersburg. Moroshkin is engaged in skating and choreography in the club, participates in the creation and conduct of programs.
