The youth team of Ukraine will receive the status of the Olympic

The UAF confirmed that the Association’s executive committee, held in December last year, extended the agreement with Rotan as a coach of the country’s youth team.

In addition, the agreement included an automatic option to extend the contract in the event of a successful performance at Euro 2023 and access to the Olympic Games 2024. Also, the youth team led by Rotan will receive the status of “Olympic”.

At the same time, for the Euro 2025 (U-21) qualifying round, where the blue-yellows will play in a group with England, Serbia, Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg, from September this year, the new youth team will begin work with a new coaching staff.

The Ukrainian national team won a ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as one of the three best teams of the 2023 European Youth Championship.

Ukraine U-21 beat their peers from France (3:1) and reached the 1/2 finals of the European Championship 2024, where Israel, Spain and England will also play.

The football team of Ukraine for the first time in history will play at the Olympics. The football tournament at the 2024 Games will be held from July 24 to August 10 next year. 16 teams will take part in the men’s competition.

In the 1/2 finals of the European Championship 2023 Ruslan Rotan’s team will play with Spain. The match will take place on July 5 in Bucharest.
