SBU detained UAF Secretary General Zapisotsky

He will be forcibly taken to a court session in Lviv

General Secretary Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Yuri Zapisotsky detained by employees Security Services of Ukraine (SBU).

Zapisotsky missed the last court hearings, allegedly due to a call to the military enlistment office. Now Zapisotsky will be forcibly taken to Lviv, where tomorrow, July 5, a hearing on his criminal case will be held.

Recall that the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Lviv imprisoned Andriy Pavelko, President of the UAF, in a pre-trial detention center for a period of 60 days, until August 14 inclusive. A pledge of 9.88 million hryvnia, which was paid for the head of the UAF, was transferred in favor of the state.

Earlier, the Pechersk Court extended the investigation into the case of Pavelko and UAF Secretary General Yury Zapisotsky until November 23, 2023. The court also decided to extend the removal of Pavelko from the post of president of the UAF until July 9, 2023.

The UAF believes that all decisions on Pavelko and UAF Secretary General Yuriy Zapisotsky have no legal force, since appeals on the previous decision have not yet been considered.

The UAF considers the entire process to be commissioned work from the former leaders of the association. At the same time, on October 18 last year, a search was carried out in the house of the president of the organization. Pavelko denied conducting searches in his own house, but stressed that behind-the-scenes games “with a Russian trace” were being waged, the purpose of which was to remove the current leadership of the Association.

In 2018, the Schemes program conducted an investigation, as a result of which journalists suspected the UAF and its president Andriy Pavelko of corruption through a factory for the production of artificial fields.
