The midfielder was the best player of the match with the Spaniards in the group stage of Euro 2023
Midfielder Ukrainian national team U-21 Oleksandr Nazarenko commented on the upcoming match 1/2 finals European Youth Championship 2023 with Spain.
“Yes, in the previous match with the Spaniards, I had a good game. Spain’s greatest strengths are the team itself. They play well in the structure, are strong as a team, tactically prepared. So tomorrow it will be a difficult game for us.”
“We are motivated at the highest level, because we play not only for ourselves and our families, but for the whole country, for our defenders who defend Ukraine on the battlefield. Therefore, we have an even greater desire to please them, to bring a smile to their faces at such a difficult moment.”
The youth team of Ukraine played a draw with the Spaniards in the third round of the group stage of Euro 2023 (2:2). Nazarenko scored an assist and was recognized as the best player of the match according to UEFA.
In the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian U-21 team beat their peers from France (3:1). Ruslan Rotan’s team won a ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as one of the three best teams of the 2023 European Youth Championship.
The duel with the Spanish national team will take place on July 5 in Bucharest. The meeting starts at 22:00.
