World champion Alexei Tikhonov, in a conversation with , said that the world of figure skating will miss the late Irina Raber, who served as vice-president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR).
On Wednesday, FFKKR chief executive Alexander Kogan told that Raber died aged 74.
“It’s a huge loss, both personally and professionally. Irina Yakovlevna has done so much for Moscow and Russian figure skating! She is a person who, with her deeds, her attitude to work, to sport, has no only set the bar high but also set an example for the people who worked with her. She helped athletes a lot and was an incredibly wise person. Great man of deeds and accomplishments! It’s a shame … Blessed memory of Irina Yakovlevna. She will be greatly missed in life and in the world of figure skating,” Tikhonov told .
Raber was vice-president of the FFKKR and also president of the ethics committee. From 2005 to 2022 she headed the Moscow Figure Skating Federation.
