Luis Enrique named PSG’s new head coach

The Spaniard has signed a two-year contract.

Former Spain coach Luis Enrique became the new head coach PSG. The specialist signed a two-year contract with the Parisians.

The last job of the specialist was the Spanish national team, which Enrique left in 2022. The coach has been with the team since 2019. Under the guidance of a specialist, the Spanish national team reached the semi-finals of the European Championship 2020, in which they lost to the Italian team on penalties, and the team reached the 1/8 finals of the 2022 World Cup, at this stage of the tournament the Spaniards lost to the Moroccan team. In addition to the Red Fury, the coach led Roma, Celta and Barcelona.

PSG have sacked head coach Christophe Galtier. The decision to change the mentor, whose contract was calculated until 2024, was made by the owner of the club, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

PSG became champions of France in the 2022/23 season. The Parisians won the national championship for a record 11th time in history.
