Down-the-line.com / Figure Skating. Russian figure skater, two-time world and European women’s singles champion Evgenia Medvedeva says she has never tried to compete with anyone. According to the athlete, she was tired of talking about competition with Alina Zagitova.
At the 2018 Olympics, Medvedeva won silver in singles and Zagitova became Olympic champion.
Former coach Sotnikova reacted to the recognition of the athlete about a positive doping test
“I got tired when they once said: ‘Medvedev against Zagitova’, ‘Medvedev against Trusova’. I was not against someone, but against myself. I changed my body, I overcame my fears. I have always been Medvedev against Medvedeva. I look in the mirror and work against that person,” Medvedeva said as quoted by Channel One.
