“I wonder how much the IOC and ISU feel about the importance of sport outside of politics” – Enbert on the Valieva case

But what decisions will be made by the Olympic Committee and the ISU after that – here the question is more political. To what extent do they feel the importance of sport outside of politics? Or will they decide to use any solution for political ends? Here, the responsibility rests on the shoulders of the Olympic committees and the international federations. Too many unknowns until there is a decision on the case. Therefore, it is difficult to make predictions and modeling decisions,” Enbert told Metaratings.ru.

Valieva at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing helped the Russian team win gold in the team competition. Before the personal tournament, it became known that the illegal drug trimetazidine was discovered during the doping test of the Russian championship figure skater.
