Three Ukrainians successfully performed on the fourth game day Wimbledon 2023.

The first racket of Ukraine Angelina Kalinina in her opening match at the tournament, she defeated Jessica Bousas Maneiro from Spain. In the first game, Angelina took three of her opponent’s serves, losing two of her own. In the second set, Kalinina won four games in a row, winning the match. Note that Angelina’s fight was scheduled for Tuesday, but was postponed twice due to rain.

Elina Svitolina defeated the 28th seed in three sets Eliza Mertens from Belgium. All three games ended with the same score – 6:1. The Belgian took the second set, but Elina was stronger in the first and third.

Lesya Tsurenko beat Katerina Sinyakova from the Czech Republic. The first game was held in a tense struggle, where at the decisive moment at the reception the Ukrainian played better. In the second set, Lesya defeated her opponent, giving up only one game.

Kalinina in the second round will meet with the winner of the match Anna Bondar (Hungary) – Bianca Andreescu (Canada). Svitolina’s opponent in the third round will be Sofia Kenin from the USA. Tsurenko will play with Ana Bogdan from Romania.

Recall that Marta Kostyuk also entered the second round of the women’s singles, defeating the eighth racket of the world, Maria Sakkari. In the next match, the Ukrainian will play with Paula Badosa from Spain.
