In the third set, the Ukrainian led 5:2, but failed to win
The first racket of Ukraine Angelina Kalinina lost Bianca Andreescu from Canada in the second round Wimbledon 2023. Tennis players spent almost three hours on the court.
In the first set, Angelina gave her opponent three games on her serve and lost 2:6. In the second game, the Ukrainian was losing 2:4, but managed to make two breaks and get a 6:4 victory.
In the decisive third set, Kalinina led 5:2, but allowed Andreescu to level the score. At the tie-break, the Ukrainian played 4 match points, but this was not enough to win – 7:10.
Today, Angelina in a duet with Romanian Irina-Camellia Begu will play the first round match of the Wimbledon doubles against Alexa Guarachi / Erin Rautliff.
Earlier, the second round of Wimbledon 2023 was overcome by Marta Kostyuk, who defeated Paula Badosa. Also today Lesya Tsurenko and Elina Svitolina will perform in the third round.
