On Saturday, it was learned that the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) had voted for the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in the 2023 Asian Summer Games in a neutral status and outside the count of medals. As the OCA’s press service told , Russians will be allowed to participate in the 2023 Asian Games if the IOC allows them to participate in the Paris Summer Olympics in 2024. The press service clarified that the final decision on the participation of Russians in the Asian Games will be taken with the cooperation of the IOC, OCA, international and Asian sports federations.

– Participation in such competitions could be a good start. The decision on possible participation in the Asian Games will be discussed by the Presidium of the All-Russian Swimming Federation, which will be held at the Russian Cup final in Kazan, Salnikov said.

The 2023 Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou from September 23 to October 8.
