Athletistic/Other. Sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev expressed his opinion on the possible admission of Russian athletes to participate in the 2023 Asian Games. Earlier it became known that 500 athletes from Russia and Belarus were admitted to the 2023 Asian Games in a neutral status, and their results will not be taken into account in the overall medal standings.
Guberniev said: “But what’s the point? They will qualify, but they won’t be able to meet the IOC criteria. Athletes from CSKA, Dynamo and National Guard can be admitted to the Asian Games, but that won’t help not us in any way in the Olympic qualification.Therefore, so far no one will go to the Olympics.
The 2023 Asian Games will be held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou from September 23 to October 8. Earlier, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) called for the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to these competitions to help them qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
The next Summer Olympics will be held in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
