Olympic high jump champion Maria Lasitskene is recovering with positive momentum from an Achilles injury, but it’s too early to talk about starting plans, the athlete’s coach Gennady Gabrielan told .
During the Russian team championship in Sochi on May 25, Lasitskene announced that she was going to undergo a medical examination regarding Achilles which was bothering her. After that, she missed the week of athletics, which was held in Moscow in June.
– Gennady Garikovich, how is Maria’s rehabilitation process going? Did you have to have surgery? And will it be possible to recover by the Asian Games if they decide to participate?
– There was no operation. Rehabilitation goes hand in hand with a positive dynamic. But, since after such injuries there is always a long recovery, now it is very difficult to predict the timing of recovery and full preparation for the competition, Gabrielyan told .
