Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion in gymnastics Denis Ablyazin told that he will start preparations for the Russian Cup in August due to the need for a full recovery from injury.
Earlier, Ablyazin told that his injury recovery is going as planned and, most likely, he will be ready to participate in the Russian Cup. At the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, held in Kazan in March, Ablyazin, 30, injured his shoulder during an exercise on the rings, which required surgery.
– I will come to the training camp in August, I will not be in July. We need to regain control without haste and start preparing successfully for the Russian Cup since August. In terms of physical condition, everything is fine for me,” Ablyazin told .
The Artistic Gymnastics Cup of Russia will be held from August 28 to September 4.
