Ukrainian beach soccer team beat Moldova in the playoffs of the qualifying tournament World Cup 2024 and won a ticket to the world championship.
In the first period, the teams exchanged goals – 1:1. According to the results of the second 12-minute period, the teams also did not reveal the strongest – 2:2. In the decisive third period, Ukraine scored three times and won – 5:2.
At the group stage, Ukraine took first place in quartet B, beating Spain (4:3 OT), Poland (3:2) and Lithuania (4:1).
Ukraine will perform at the World Beach Soccer Championship for the fourth time in history. In the past, the blue-yellows played at the World Cup in 2005, 2011 and 2013.
In 2021, Ukraine qualified for the World Cup, but the Ukrainian Football Association and the Beach Soccer Association of Ukraine banned the national team from participating in the world championship in Moscow.
Following the results of the qualifying tournament in Baku, Belarus and Portugal also received tickets to the 2024 World Cup. Another winner of the European selection will be determined in the match Italy – Spain.
The 2024 World Cup will be held in the UAE from 15 to 25 February next year. 16 teams will play in the tournament.
