Shcherbakova told how she decided to skydive ahead of the Beijing Olympics

Olympic champion Anna Shcherbakova recounted how his father suggested he skydive ahead of the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.

– I was on vacation in Dubai, it was after the World Cup and before the Olympics. I asked the coach what to do there. He gave his recommendations, but said, “In principle, do whatever you want, but don’t jump with a parachute.” Then he laughed and said, “Should I show voicemails where I said do anything but skydive?”

What did the parents say? It was suggested to me by my father. Before the Olympics, there were then a little more than six months. But it is absolutely safe. I jumped with an instructor that does everything. And you fly and enjoy the flight. It was a bit exciting, but not even scary. Just as I expected. I was nervous only in the plane and at the time of the jump, but I really liked it in the flight itself. I love it,” Shcherbakova said on Laysan Utyasheva’s YouTube channel.

Shcherbakova won the gold medal of the Beijing 2022 Games in the individual tournament. She also has World Championship gold, two European Championship silver medals, three Russian Championship victories. The figure skater entered the reserve team of Russia for the 2023/24 season.
