Russian Archery Federation President Vladimir Yesheev told that the World Championships in Berlin will most likely take place without Russian athletes, given the need to sign a declaration of neutrality and provide detailed information about each of them.
Earlier it became known that the Russian rowers decided not to travel to Bulgaria for the Junior World Championship and did not sign the neutral athlete declaration drawn up by World Rowing.
The World Archery Championships will take place in Berlin from July 31 to August 6.
– Athletes must sign a declaration stating that they are against the SVO, they are not military. There are a lot of hard things to do. For each athlete, you must provide information – who is the employer, who is the coach, who is the coach’s employer. These are things we currently ignore.
In all these conditions, we have no right to speak. During the congress of the International Archery Federation, a commission will be created which will determine whether an athlete is worthy of acting in a neutral status on the international scene or not. Therefore, the World Cup is not shining for us in any way,” Yesheev told .
