Elina will overtake Angelina Kalinina in the rating
Elina Svitolina get back the status the first racket of Ukraine thanks to the successful performance at Wimbledon 2023.
Today, Elina beat the first racket of the world Iga Sventek from Poland and reached the 1/2 finals of the grass major. Svitolina has already earned 780 points for her performance at the tournament.
Next week, after the update of the world ranking, Svitolina will have at least 1578 points and 27th place. Angelina Kalinina, who is now the first racket of Ukraine, will drop to 28th position (1567 points).
Svitolina lost the status of the first racket of Ukraine after she suspended her career in 2022 due to pregnancy. Elina returned to the Tour in April 2023 and won the tournament in Strasbourg in May. At Roland Garros, the Ukrainian reached the 1/4 finals.
In the 1/2 finals of Wimbledon 2023, Svitolina will meet with the Czech Marketa Vondrousova. The fight is scheduled for July 13th.
