Olympic figure skating champion and State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina expressed her opinion on the statement of Adelina Sotnikova, the winner of the Sochi Olympics, about a positive doping test, and said said the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of South Korea had the right to demand an investigation.

Earlier, Sotnikova spoke in an interview with YouTube channel Tatarka FM about a positive doping test result in 2014. She also noted that her “B” doping test came back negative. Second place at the Sochi Games was taken by Korean figure skater Kim Yu Na.

Rodnina noted that if the athlete herself reports it, the NOC of South Korea has the right to demand an investigation. She also noted that the expected consequences depend on the results of the investigation, and that these results should be expected. Rodnina urged not to draw preliminary conclusions and expect official results.
