Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmila Kichenok reached the final of the mixed doubles tournament Wimbledon 2023.
Ukrainian paired with Mate Pavic from Croatia beat the British in the semi-final Johnny O’Maru And Olivia Nicholls. The three-set duel lasted almost two hours.
Kichenok and Pavich won the first game in a tie-break. In the second set, the opponents turned out to be stronger. In the decisive game, Lyudmila and Mate managed to make one break and did not lose a single serve.
Recall that in the quarterfinals Kichenok and Pavich defeated the Frenchman Nicolas Mayu and Anna Danilina from Kazakhstan. At the same stage, Marta Kostyuk stopped performing in mixed doubles. The Ukrainian paired with Salvadorian Marcelo Arevalo lost to the representative of Indonesia Aldila Sutjiadi and the Dutchman Matva Middelkop.
In the decisive match of the mixed doubles, Kichenok and Pavich will face Goran Fliegen from Belgium and Xu Yifan from China. The 2023 Wimbledon Mixed Doubles Final will take place on 13 July.
