Our team did well in the UAE, and also won a historic women’s foil medal.
The Ukrainian national team won three medals at the World Fencing Championship among cadets and juniors, graduating in Dubai.
Two awards were won by our cadets in epee fencing – female Lvov Anna Maksimenko became second in women’s competitions, and a resident of Kiev Maxim Perchuk take bronze in men’s.

Separately, it’s worth noting the historic bronze junior Ekaterina Budenko from Kyiv. The woman took third place in women’s foil and this is the first junior World Championship medal in the history of our country in women’s fencing in this form.

It is also noteworthy that the Ukrainian junior foil fencers stopped one step away from the podium in the team competition, and the Ukrainian junior epee fencers finished in the TOP-5 in the team tournament.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian national team for the second consecutive time finished the World Championship in these age categories in 13th position in the medal standings. In 2021, our team also won three medals, but they were all bronze and were won by their women’s junior teams.
