The club from Saudi Arabia now have to negotiate with Liverpool
Midfielder Liverpool Jordan Henderson accepted an offer to move to Al-Ittifaq. The captain of the Reds agreed on the terms of a personal contract.
The club from Saudi Arabia will have to agree with Liverpool. The head coach of the Reds, Jurgen Klopp, has given the player his consent to the transfer, but the club will not release the captain for free.
Earlier it was reported that Jordan’s salary could increase four times compared to the contract at Liverpool. The transition is also influenced by the fact that Steven Gerrard, with whom Henderson played in Liverpool, became the new head coach of the team.
The 33-year-old Brit made 43 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last season, providing three assists.
Al-Ittifaq finished the season in seventh place in the Saudi Arabian Championship with 37 points from 30 rounds. Liverpool will take on Chelsea in the first round of the new Premier League season on August 13.
