“The IOC can’t make a decision now, they don’t have a specific position.” Druzhinin on the participation of Russians in the 2024 Olympics

President of the Russian Diving Federation Stanislav Druzhinin believes that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) cannot yet decide on the invitation of the Russians to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the organization does not have a precise position.

The IOC announced on Thursday that it would not send invitations to the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) and the Belarusian NOC for the 2024 Olympics on the set date of July 26.

– It is not surprising that the IOC did not send us an invitation to the Olympic Games, because they understand that under the conditions which are proposed and which are contrary to the Olympic Charter, we could not accept this invitation.

“But they could have made a negative decision now.

“So it would have been some kind of specific position, now, if I understand correctly, it doesn’t exist. I think they can’t make any decisions now because they are subject to influences,” Druzhinin told .

In March, the IOC Executive Committee recommended that international federations, if Russians are allowed to start, do so individually, in a neutral status, without participating in team events, and also exclude the participation of athletes associated with the forces of order.

The Olympic Games in the French capital will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
