Kristina Makarenko, eight-time Russian champion, after winning the Russian Cup in athletics, said she repeated her personal best thanks to the competition.
On Friday, Makarenko won the Russian Cup 100m with a time of 11.15 seconds. For her, this is a repeat of a personal best set on July 8 at the 12th leg of the Queen of Russian Sports series in Bryansk. Second place was taken by Yulia Karavaeva (11.47), third was Uliana Bazhenova (11.54).
– 11:15 is great, it’s a repeat of my personal record. I am very happy! The stadium is very cool, I really liked it. All is well! The only thing is very early. If it was later, it would be even better.
The weather is generally normal: not hot, quite comfortable. It’s raining tomorrow. My husband (Artem Makarenko) runs hurdles, so I’m a bit worried how everything will turn out for them.
– Last week you set a personal best, today you repeated it. Where do you find the motivation to grow?
I think it’s due to competition. There are girls running the first meters next to me. Well, I decided that in the remaining years I should realize myself, show the result that I am capable of, ”the correspondent reports in the words of Makarenko.
