Warren on Fury-Ngannou fight: All box office records will be broken

The fight will take place on October 28 in Saudi Arabia.

Promoter Frank Warren shared his thoughts on the fight of the WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou (17-3, 12 KOs). He believes that the fight in Saudi Arabia will break all box office records.

“This is a big event. This is the biggest event I have ever participated in. Yesterday, the #1 character on Twitter was Fury, and the #2 character was Ngannou. It’s a big audience, not just a few guys. This is a massive, massive event. As far as I understand, this will be the biggest event I have ever participated in,” Warren said.

“That’s what Tyson is going to do. All box office records will be broken. Isn’t Ngannou the best heavyweight in his martial arts? Isn’t he listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most dangerous puncher?

Fury and Ngannou will fight on October 28 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The WBC granted Tyson a special permit to fight the former UFC champion.

Fury has not been in the ring since December 2022, when he defended his WBC title against Derek Chisora. In April, Tyson planned to have a unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk, but the Ukrainian pulled out of negotiations due to contract disagreements.

Ngannou had his last fight in the UFC in January last year, after which he left the promotion. In May, he signed with the Professional Fighters League.
