On Saturday, Morgunov won the Russian Cup pole vault tournament in Zhukovsky with a score of 5.82 meters. The athlete unsuccessfully tried to take a height of 5.93 three times. Second place was taken by Matvey Volkov (5.60), third – Alexander Solovyov (5.50).
Earlier it became known that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will not send an invitation to Russia and Belarus to participate in the Summer Olympics in Paris before the deadline – July 26.
“Our athletes have no hope. It’s a kind of circus. I doubt they’ll let us in. For a number of reasons – political and not only. We’ll do the pole vault because it’s a really nice individual look. We will please the countries that are friends with us, ”reports the correspondent of in the words of Morgunov.
The 2024 Olympics will take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
