The Ukrainian national team won the first gold in water sports competitions held in Budapest.
The Ukrainian national team won the first gold at the 19th FINA World Championships held in Budapest. Our athletes became the best in the artistic swimming competition in the team combination.
According to the official website of the International Swimming Federation, the “blue-yellow” team won with a score of 95.0333.
Our country is represented by 10 athletes: Marta Fedina, Marina and Vladislava Alekseev, Olesya Derevyanchenko, Veronika Grishko, Sofia Matsiyevskaya, Daria Moshinskaya, Angelina Ovchinnikova, Anastasia Shmonina and Valeria Tishchenko.
Second place, almost 1.5 points behind, was taken by Japan. The bronze was won by Italy with a score of 92.0333 points.
Note that this gold award is second only to the history of Ukraine in artistic swimming. The first time the Ukrainians won the World Cup was three years ago.
