– The first time I discovered figure skating was in 2014, when I saw Yulia Lipnitskaya on TV. The next day I went to training and said: “I want to shoot like Yulia Lipnitskaya.” Then there was Evgenia Medvedeva and her simply fantastic programs, and Alina Zagitova. When I came to Eteri Tutberidze’s group, I saw Sasha Trusova, Anya Shcherbakova and Alena Kostornaya. They started jumping quad jumps, which seemed forbidden to women. When you’re in that environment, you start reaching out to them – jump so much, exercise so much. I watched a lot how Sasha trains, caught Alina Zagitova.
