The final swim will take place on June 21
Ukrainian swimmer Mikhail Romanchuk went out in the final World Aquatics Championships in the 800m freestyle.
Romanchuk became the winner of the third qualifying heat, overcoming the distance in 7:44.75. This is the best result in qualifying among all athletes.
The final swim in the 800m freestyle will take place on Tuesday, June 21st. The beginning is at 19:02 Kyiv time.
Romanchuk is a bronze medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a two-time European champion in the 800m freestyle.
Denis Kesil (200m, butterfly) and Maxim Ovchinnikov (50m, breaststroke) also took part in the qualification today. Ukrainian swimmers failed to reach the semi-finals, finishing 22nd and 24th respectively.
Ukraine has already won two medals at the FINA World Championships in Budapest. Marta Fedina took second place in the individual competition in artistic swimming, and sisters Marina and Vladislava Alekseev won silver in the pair competition
