Olympic champion Tatyana Navka opened up about meeting a former ice dancing partner Roman Kostomarov .
Kostomarov was hospitalized in January this year, since then the 46-year-old figure skater has been under medical supervision and has suffered several amputations. In early July, Kostomarov announced that he was discharged from hospital.
– Finally, the long-awaited meeting with Roma took place. I was very happy to see them with Oksana (Domnina, Kostomarov’s wife – Editor’s note) at our house. It was such a warm and sincere meeting! We sat down, we talked, we remembered, we laughed.
I never tire of admiring, Roma, your courage, your character, and Oksana’s incredible dedication and faith in you. I am sure all your fans, like me, believe that we will always dance on ice,” Navka wrote on her Telegram channel.
Kostomarov, along with Navka, won gold at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin in ice dancing. In addition, the duo won twice at the world championships, three times at the European championships.
