Representatives of the aggressor country recently renewed their rights after the appeal was upheld.
Ukrainian lugers have called on athletes from other countries to boycott competitions under the auspices of the International Luge Federation (FIL) due to the involvement of Russian representatives, which have waged war against Ukraine.
The open letter was signed by Andrey Mandziy, Anton Dukach, Elena Smaga, Elena Stetskiv, Yulianna Tunitskaya, Igor Stakhiv, Andrey Lisetsky, Igor Goi, Rostislav Levkovich, Daniil Martsinovsky, Vadim Mikievich and Bogdan Babur.
“Tell your National Federations that you will not compete in any FIL competition until the organization decides to remove RF from our sport. Create a strong, clear and general message. Show your message to the Federations and make sure they let them know to the FIL the decision on the refusal of athletes to compete with the Russian team during the war and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, “the Ukrainian athletes said in a statement.
