Former figure skater Tutberidze explained why she agrees with the increased age limit

Former figure skater Diana Guseva, who competed under Eteri Tutberidze considers the decision to raise the age limit in figure skating to be correct.

– Is it fair that the age limit has been raised in figure skating? I think so. Now ten-year-olds are already jumping quads – it’s cool, great. But everyone wants adults to ride a little too, show their programs at competitions. It’s not so interesting to watch small ones,” Guseva told the Championship.

In 2022, the International Skating Union (ISU) accepted the organization’s board of directors’ proposal to gradually raise the age limit to 17.
