Athletistic/Other. The Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament has again called on the International Olympic Committee (IOC) not to allow the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the Olympic Games scheduled for 2024 in Paris.
In a press release issued today, 18 July, the Committee noted: “MPs call on the IOC and other international sports federations to prevent athletes from Belarus and the Russian Federation from participating in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris or any other international sporting event.”
The lines of protest were already expressed by the European Parliament in February 2023, and now the decision on the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to the Olympics should be taken no earlier than the end of September this year.
