Reds swimmer: “I did not send my FINA medals, no one applied”

swimming olympic medalist Alexander Krasnykh said he had not sent his medals to the International Swimming Federation (FINA), noting that no one had attempted to contact him about it.

During the Budapest congress, FINA presented the medals of the Russian team of the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay world championships to the teams of the United States (gold, world championship 2016) and Brazil (bronze, championship World Cup 2014) due to the participation in the heats of Artem Lobuzov, who was disqualified for an anti-doping rule violation. The medals were received by the representatives of the respective national federations.

– I didn’t send my medals, nobody even tried to contact me. No information was brought to me, although I have an indirect connection with this situation,” Krasnykh told .

FINA, by decision of February 11, disqualified Lobuzov based on data from the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory (LIMS). All his results of July 27, 2014 are cancelled, the medals are withdrawn. Krasnykh competed in both “medal” relay races.
