Russian track cycling champion Daniil Zarakovsky told he had no problem obtaining neutral status from the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
Zarakovsky won the points race at the Russian Championship in St. Petersburg. Previously, he received a neutral status from the UCI, which will allow him to participate in the World Championships, European Championships, Nations Cup, and not just race for the club.
— Daniil, how was the race today?
– The plan was originally just to get to this race. After yesterday’s team race I was exhausted – we broke our record. I tried to drive away and they let me go, little boy, they thought I was harmless. I took it and decided to fight more, made another circle and won the Russian championship.
– Have you calmly obtained a neutral status?
– Everything went well. It took two weeks, calmly approved.
– Do you hope to go to the championship?
“As we go, we are doing everything for it,” Zarakovsky told .
Since June 1, the UCI has started issuing neutral statuses to Russian cyclists to participate in the World Championships and World Cup stages.
