FINA awarded Russian medals to American and Brazilian teams due to Lobuzov’s disqualification

The International Swimming Federation (FINA) during an extraordinary congress of the organization handed over to the national teams UNITED STATES and Brazil world championship medals, which were deprived of Russian relay teams due to participation in heats Artem Lobuzov .

On February 11, FINA disqualified Lobuzov for an anti-doping rule violation based on data from the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory (LIMS). All athlete results from July 27, 2014 are voided and medals are withdrawn.

The 2016 World Cup gold medal was awarded to the US team, the 2014 World Cup bronze medal to the Brazilian team. The awards were presented to the representatives of the respective federations at the congress in Budapest.
