Australian representative Ariane Timus won the 400m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships with a world record.
The athlete showed the result of 3 minutes and 55.38 seconds. The former world achievement belonged to the Canadian summer macintosh (3:56.08) and was established in March of this year at the National Qualifying Tournament.
The second to swim was an American Kathy Ledecky with a score of 3:58.73, losing to Titmus by over three seconds. New Zealand’s Erica Fairweather took the bronze in 3:59.59. McIntosh, whose world record was broken, is fourth (3:59.94).
Titmus hasn’t lost a single race in a major competition at this distance for five years.
The Aquatic World Championship is being held in Fukuoka, Japan and will end on July 30.
