Athletistic/Figure Skating. The 2018 Olympic champion in women’s singles, Alina Zagitova, has spoken of her desire to become a mother. However, she admitted she was unsure if she would send her child into the sport.

“Would I like to become a mother in the future? Of course. It seems to me that most girls dream of a family and children.

Will I support my future children in sport? It’s a difficult question, because… On the one hand, I would like my child to choose an activity that he likes and that would be his passion. But, on the other hand… When I remember my childhood, I didn’t like figure skating at all. My mom took me there, and she said, “Go ride a bike.” I just stood by and shouted, they say, take me away from here! And yet, she made me stay and practice. Later I started to understand and realized that I liked it.

Living the life of a figure skater parent? Of course, I don’t want that either. But on this topic you can ponder and ponder for a long time, and I want to approach this issue very carefully and cautiously.

Will my son become a hockey player? I think dad would like that. But I’m not going to predict. Like in sports, I didn’t like to make assumptions about the future when asked about plans for the season,” Zagitova explained in the Free Program podcast on Channel One.
