Mikhail Romanchuk won a bronze medal at the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest. The Ukrainian finished third in the 800m freestyle.

It should be noted that our athlete took the lead in the last 50 meters of the distance, but he could not hold the first place. As a result, the victory was won by Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Bobby Finke from the USA. Silver went to Florian Wellbrock from Germany.

At the same time, Romanchuk’s result of 7: 40.05 is a new Ukrainian record. Moreover, success improved by more than a second. The previous record also included Romanchuk at 7: 41.28.
