Russian figure skater Egor Murashov said he closed the story with the change of sporting citizenship in Switzerland.
Murashov, 23, has announced his intention to play for Switzerland ahead of the 2021/22 season. The skater already took part in the championship of this country in 2022 and became a silver medalist.
– Did you put an end to this story? I think that’s where the story ends. I tried to understand. I can say that I had a very serious choice: to go to Switzerland, to live and train only there. I’m not ready for such a life, it’s hard for me without my loved ones. Difficult to follow this track where there is only sport. I feel like I’m missing a lot of opportunities. What’s good about the shows is that I communicate a lot with different people here, I learn something new, I grow. I watch our guys, for example, in Vika (Sinitsina) and Nikita (Katsalapov) – how they play their roles, how the guys in the corps de ballet work. I like him a lot, I want to evolve. And speaking for Switzerland, I will have to train and work there.
I had problems with the job, from that they repelled. Basically, if I don’t work on it, I won’t have the opportunity to play it. If you delve into this topic, I needed a category B1 residence permit – I was not to leave Switzerland for six months, and only then could I only apply for a residence permit, not even get it. And after that, I had to wait for an answer. It would take a long time and there would be no guarantees. In other words, it is not a fact that I could play on the international stage. Given the current situation in the world, it would be very, very difficult,” Murashov told the “Championship”.
Now Murashov performs in Tatyana Navka’s ice show.
