Borodavko: ‘I wish there were athletes in Russia who could make Nepryaeva work 100%’

National Team Head Coach Russia cross-country skiing Yuri Borodavko told he would like to see athletes in Russia who could force the Olympic champion Natalia Nepryaeva work at full power.

Elena Vyalbe, president of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), told TASS on Tuesday that the main problem in women’s skiing concerns Nepryaeva, who has no competitors in Russia.

– Natalia has competition. At certain distances, Veronika Stepanova behaves well, in sprints there are girls who can impose a fight. Of course, I wish there were athletes at a higher level who could make Natalia work 100%. I repeat, it happens at certain distances, but if you take it as a whole, the girls do not reach the level of Nepryaeva, Borodavko told .

Nepryaeva is the owner of a full set of Olympic medals from the Beijing 2022 Games and a bronze medalist from the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics.
