McIntosh, 15, wins world championships in 200m butterfly

canadian swimmer summer macintosh won the 200m butterfly at the World Swimming Championships in Budapest.

McIntosh, 15, swam the distance in 2 minutes 5.20 seconds. That’s 8.29 seconds faster than her mother Jill Horstead’s 2:13.49 at the 1984 Olympics.

Hali Flickinger (USA) was second in the 200 butterfly in 2:06.08, China’s Zhan Yufei was third in 2:06.32.

In the 50 backstroke, Canadian Kylie Masset won with 27.31 seconds, followed by Katharina Berkoff of the United States (27.39) and third by France’s Anaia Pigret (27.40).

Over a distance of 200 m, the Frenchman Leon Marchand won the complex (1:55.22), the second was the American Carson Foster (1:55.71), the third was the Japanese Daiya Seto (1:56.22)

Team USA won the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay with a world championship record time of 7:41.45 minutes. The Australians were second (7:43.86), Canada took bronze (7:44.76).
