Ukrainian woman made it to the quarterfinals of the competition in Eastbourne
Fifth racket of Ukraine Lesya Tsurenko commented on reaching the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament in Eastbourne.
Today, Tsurenko’s rival on the British courts will be the representative of Brazil, the 29th racket of the world, Beatriz Haddad Maya.
“She has an unrealistic winning streak on grass, two tournaments won. Plus, she’s left-handed – it’s always frustrating on grass, a left-handed serve on grass is even harder to take. But we’ll see. I, too, have already won five matches and also feel confident, ”said the Ukrainian.
“The condition of the elbow? We keep it all under control, we clearly understand the situation, what and how to do it. We hope that this dynamics will continue and I will be able to play and win a lot more.”
Tsurenko made it to the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 series tournament for the first time since 2019. Yesterday, in the 1/8 finals, Lesya defeated Poland’s Magda Lynette.
In June, Tsurenko starts in the main draw of Wimbledon, where she avoided qualifying matches due to the withdrawal of Croatian tennis player Ana Konyukh from the tournament.
