Pyatov got 28 trophies with Shakhtar, setting an absolute club record
Ex-player of the national team of Ukraine and Donetsk Shakhtar, goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov thanked the fans for their support.
“A big stage of my life, my career, playing path has ended. A new page begins, which I start with the same warm heart and burning eyes, as I once started as a football player. Thank you all,” Pyatov wrote on social media.
Pyatov played for Shakhtar for 16 years. He has 482 matches to his credit, which is the third figure in the history of the club and the largest number of games among Shakhtar’s goalkeepers.
In total, Pyatov won 28 trophies with Shakhtar, setting an absolute club record. On his account – 11 titles of the champion of Ukraine, as well as a victory in the UEFA Cup in 2009.
Pyatov made his debut for the national team of Ukraine in August 2007 and played 102 matches for the main team of the country in all tournaments. Now Andrei is the ambassador of the blue and yellow.
The goalkeeper played a farewell match for the Pitmen, playing in a charity match against Tottenham. It is known that Pyatov will continue to be in the structure of Shakhtar and will join the coaching staff of Patrick van Leeuwen.
